Medical Genetics Research Group
We are a dedicated team of medical doctors, molecular biologists and bioinformaticians committed to advancing the field of medical genetics and making a difference in the lives of patients and their families.
The main goal of the Medical Genetics Research Group at is to increase our understanding of how changes in DNA affect health and disease. During extensive genetic investigations of developmental disorders, we often discover mutations in genes that have not previously been associated with disease. Some of these findings may be candidates for new disease-causing genes and should receive further investigation beyond routine diagnostic assessments. Together with research partners in Norway and abroad, we aim to expand the current knowledge base and pave the way for more accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment strategies.
